A fantastic start to the season for Sunderland West End Ladies in the bright sunshine this afternoon.

Stockton took an early lead and looked strong, enjoying much of the possession, but West End dug deep, battled for everything and found a deserved equaliser before half-time. Stockton continued to threaten after the break, but West End grew into the game, enjoyed some good spells of possession and really took the fight to their visitors. Their persistence paid off with a late winner to secure a hard-earned and well-deserved 3 points from their opening fixture of the season.
