This afternoon, Sunderland West End Ladies welcomed Hartlepool United Women FC for a closely fought league encounter. There really wasn’t much between the two sides, with both creating chances, but a West End goal just before half-time proved to be the difference — 1–0 and all three points for the home side!

Hartlepool, still searching for their first win of the season, certainly made a game of it and will probably feel that, had they taken their chances, they could have come away with something. Another gutsy, hard-working performance from West End Ladies, though, and another well-earned win.
